Project: Bespoke Outdoor BBQ Shed Build
For this project we built a custom outdoor barbecue shed / cooking station designed to make year-round grilling more practical. The structure creates a sheltered workspace with privacy slatted screening, a solid roof overhead, and a full L-shaped prep counter with space for built-in appliances and storage.
The brief
The client wanted an outdoor setup that:
- Provides shelter from rain and sun
- Keeps the area feeling private and tidy
- Includes a large prep surface with cut-outs for BBQ / sink / accessories
- Adds under-counter storage for tools and supplies
- Looks clean and purpose-built on the existing decking
What we did
- Built a strong timber frame with upright posts and roof structure to create a solid, long-lasting outdoor shelter.
- Installed horizontal slatted walls to the back and sides for airflow, screening, and a modern look.
- Added lower plywood lining to protect the base area and give a clean internal finish.
- Constructed an L-shaped worktop and fitted it in place, including pre-cut openings for built-in elements.
- Formed the base units and shelving, leaving space for doors and storage compartments to keep everything organised.
Result
A practical, stylish outdoor BBQ area that turns the garden into a proper cooking zone—sheltered, functional, and ready for finishing touches (appliance fitting, final doors/trim, sealing/paint/stain as required).
