Project: Bespoke Under-Stairs Cupboard Installation – Buckhurst Hill
For this project in Buckhurst Hill, we transformed an unused under-stairs void into a clean, built-in storage solution. The goal was to create practical cupboard space that follows the staircase line, looks seamless with the existing joinery, and provides easy everyday access for household storage.
The brief
The client wanted:
- A smart way to use the dead space under the stairs
- Two separate storage areas (one under the slope, one full-height)
- A finish that blends in with the hallway — simple, tidy, and paint-ready
- Doors that align neatly and open smoothly
What we did
- Built a solid timber stud framework to shape both cupboard openings and ensure everything was straight, strong, and square.
- Installed internal carcassing and shelving, making the space practical and organised.
- Fitted shaker-style doors to suit the property style and match the staircase joinery.
- Completed the job with neat trims and a white painted finish, leaving a clean, built-in look with consistent door gaps and smooth operation.
Result
A tidy, space-saving upgrade that adds real storage to the hallway—two discreet cupboards that look like part of the original staircase, ideal for shoes, cleaning products, coats, or general household items.
